Your Prize is Thrush!

The second time around of nursing has not been fun! First I get mastitis and feel like I am going to die and now I have thrush! I couldn't figure out what was going on! I was getting so sore, red, bumpy, and I itched like crazy! Then my visiting teacher came over and we got to talking...she has a 4 month old and she always gets thrush. Good thing she told me about it because the next day is when I started feeling the pain! I couldn't see it in Tag's mouth until we got to the doctors office yesterday. We are both on medicine and I am feeling much better! I just wish that nursing didn't have to be so brutal! Here us mothers are trying to do the best thing for our babies and we have to worry about all these painful things happening to us! It just isn't fair! Okay...I am done complaining now!

On a better note, Josh is home from his work trip and I am so happy to have him back! While he was gone I got to watch my little niece, Becca. Her and Ty had fun until Ty did something to make her angry. After that she wanted nothing to do with Ty. I had Becca (11 mo) on one side of me, Tag nursing (6 wks), and Ty (20mo) on the other side of me. Can you say "GREAT BIRTH CONTROL" At one point all three were crying...it was almost comical!

We got these really cute pictures of Ty and Tag this morning! Aren't they just the cutest boys...I am a little biased! Tag weighed 10lbs 2oz when I took him to the doctor yesterday. He is getting so big and he is giving mom nice long bouts of sleep at night...it is WONDERFUL!!!

Ty's PJ's and Mommy's Hair

It seems as though I am always playing catch up with my blogs! I am sorry, but for all you busy moms out there, I am sure you understand! Josh was gone this weekend on a scout campout, so I was left with the kiddos! Ty has not worn these pajamas in a very long time, but all his other ones were dirty so I thought...what the heck we'll give 'em a try. They still fit him, but not for much longer. He loved them and kept looking at his feet like, "what are these things, I can't get them off." He pranced around the house and seemed to turn into a different little boy once they were on. It was so cute and I just had to take pictures for daddy. Ty also loves to brush his teeth...I think he enjoys the taste of the toothpaste more than anything. I am just hoping that we are doing something good by brushing them. Ty is 20 months old in these pictures. I can't believe how big he is getting...he is my sweet and crazy little boy.

For those of you who asked...here are the pictures of my hair. I am going in on Wednesday to have a few areas fixed because I just don't think they are working right now. I also straightened my hair the other day, so it is much easier to fix without the perm in it.

Tag is a Month Old

I love my Grammy!
Tag with his big brother, Ty and his Grammy from Oklahoma!

Time has flown by so fast and I can't believe that Tag is already a month old. He has definitely gotten bigger, which is no surprise because he LOVES to eat. Little things about Tag: he loves to be cuddled and sleeps the best when he nestled right next to mom or dad. He has these great big blue eyes that love to explore all around. Whenever he is hungry or just wants some attention, he screams bloody murder until he gets what he wants. He still hates to have his diaper changed, which happens a lot because he poops, poops, poops, and poops some more! He enjoys bathtime, but only if you pour water on him the entire time. He really loves to sleep on his tummy and is trying so hard to lift his head up. He is a wonderful baby and we are so thankful to have him in our family. We love you Tag!

Happy Father's Day!

What a silly dad we have!

I must say that we spoiled daddy for Father's Day! We made him his favorite breakfast, French Toast. Then he got an IPod because he's been wanting one and he was so HAPPY he finally got one. Then I made him a T-Bone Steak and baked potato for dinner. Then to top it all off, he got homemade brownies too. He requested the brownies and I must say they are yummy! He even got to take a Sunday nap too while I wrestled with the boys! We love our daddy and we really wanted him to feel special on Father's Day! Ty loved helping him open his present and wrestling on the floor with dad after church. We love you daddy!

Ty's First Black Eye

Ty got his first black eye the other day and I felt so bad for him. He was running so fast, tripped, and fell right into the metal bar on the baby swing. His eye got worse and worse as the day went on. I had to call Josh and tell him I wasn't abusing my child. Right after that he was running full speed ahead again and ran right into the recliner with that same side of his face. It was a great and eventful day. What do ya do...boys will be boys! I thought this picture of Daddy and his boys was so cute that I had to post it too.

I Chopped it All Off

I have been feeling so ugly lately...those of you who just had a baby may understand this feeling. Nothing fits right now, I have no time to do my hair or really even take a shower for that matter. I just feel UGLY and needed a change. I don't want to buy any new clothes because I don't plan on staying the size I am now, so I followed the advice my mission president once gave me. He told us sisters that we couldn't afford to change our wardrobes, but we could always change our hair. That is what I decided to do yesterday as I was driving home from Las Vegas. I called and made the appointment when I got home and was so excited she could get me in this morning....otherwise I might have changed my mind. I LOVED my long hair, but I needed a change. It is summer and Nevada is HOT! My head feels so light now, I am much cooler and I really LOVE my new hairdo. Tell me what you think and be honest! I was just happy that Josh liked it!

Tags First Bath

Life has been a little crazy since arriving home from Alamo. My mother is here now and we have been super busy. We've had doctor appointments this week and then I got mastitis...which was horrible. I never had it with Ty, but I wanted to die! No doctor could get me in, so I finally had to call dear old dad to call me in some medicine so I could get feeling better. Thank goodness my mom was here so I could just close my eyes and sleep. I feel so much better now! I feel so disconnected because I have had no time to get on the computer and check out blogs or even post my own blogs. I am finally making myself sit down and update all of you on life with Tag and Ty.

We gave Tag his first bath on Wednesday, as everything had finally fallen off. He loved the bath. I think he loved it because it was so nice and warm because if we weren't constantly putting water on his tummy or legs, he would start to cry. I hate giving sponge baths because they get so cold and seem to cry the whole time, so this time I just waited for the belly button and circumsion ring to fall off so he could have a normal bath. He was so calm and peaceful and I just loved watching him. So far he and Ty have very different personalities. It's amazing that you can see the difference already. Tag is very fiesty compared to Ty. When he gets angry he screams at the top of his lungs until you make it better. He loves to keep mom awake at night by getting comfortable and falling asleep and then for no apparent reason waking right back up and crying until mom has to take him out of the room so daddy can get some sleep. I must say that if I put him in bed with me and nurse him he sleeps so good, but I do not want to get in this habit, so I try to only do it in the middle of the night feedings. Tag also hates to have his diaper changed, so he screams and wiggles during the whole process, but at least it wakes him up so I can feed him! He really is a good baby, but different from Ty.

Ty was so mellow and not much bothered him. The only thing I can really think of is that he hated to be on his tummy...other than that he was really mellow.Ty loves his baby brother and loves to give him kisses and be in right in his face whenever he can...especially when mommy is nursing. It is very sweet and I am glad he loves his baby brother. He can even say his name and it is so cute!
