Ty's First Day of School

Nothin' better than cookies and milk with daddy

On Monday August 29th, Ty had his first day of school. He was so excited for school and all summer long kept asking when he got to go to school. It was really quite cute. Ty's birthday is in October, so he missed the kindergarten cut off, but he is a peer model for the autistic class. His teacher is Mrs. Smith and she is just so awesome. I got to know her from my zumba class! On his first day both Josh and I were there to see him off and then Josh wanted to big him up from school. Ty felt really special to have dad pick him up and take him to get a soda and to the hardware store. He asked me yesterday when dad daddy was going to pick him up again and I replied, "daddy has to work, so I will be pick you up." Then he said with the cutest little voice, then I can get a soda!! Today is his third day and everyday he has come home with a huge smile on his face and lets me know he had a great day at school. It is a big change because he goes everyday and all day long. He was ready for school and I was so excited that he was chosen to be a peer model. Tag was a little sad that he wasn't able to go to school with his big brother and best friend, but I keep telling him that he gets to go to pre-school next week and he is so excited. Yesterday we went swimming and I think that made Tag feel better about having his older brother and playmate gone.

I just love this little girl
We saw this all weekend long...poor kid has no butt to keep his pants up...I think we need suspenders.

Isaac and Ty are about 6 weeks apart and have been friends since they were babies

We have done some fun things with the boys lately. Since I wasn't teaching Zumba for August, I wanted to do a lot of fun things with the kids before school starts. We went to our good friend, Isaac Greig's birthday party at Jumpin Jacks. The kids had a fun time, but it didn't last too long. Of course they put those video games in there, so the kids just wanted to play them and started to whine because us moms were saying no because we had already paid to jump. After Jumpin Jacks, we had lunch at the park and the kids had a great time playing with each other.
This past weekend, we headed to Yankee Meadows with my friend Jill and her 3 children. Jill and I headed up with our kids on Thursday morning and then Josh was meeting up with us that night. Yankee Meadows is so beautiful and I LOVED where we camped. The weather was perfect and we had the perfect campsite. The boys all played great together and the girls pal'd around together. We went fishing and both Ty and Tag caught their own fish...they were so excited and proud of themselves. Unfortunately, Tags got away when dad was taking it off the line, so we only got a picture of Ty's. Josh had a great time fly fishing out on the reservoir and we brought our canoe up and that was so relaxing and fun to take the kids out. He also brought his boss's fishing boat out and the boys really loved riding around the lake it that. Our friends and Jill's cousin, Emily and Brice and their little boy, Dylan, came up on Friday and stayed the night. Jill and Emily's cousin SherieDawn came up with her boys Friday evening and we all had a great time chatting it up and laughing! Of course, Jill and Josh are always the life of the party with their constant beating of each other...they really do love each other, but they fight like brother and sister. It is pretty entertaining.
Jill and I were able to go for a canoe ride by ourselves and that was lots of fun. We got out on the little island and relaxed for a little bit. The kids figured out a really fun activity and would start at the top of the hill and ride these little baby 4wheelers all the way to the bottom. They did it over and over again and never got bored with it. Josh even had the little girls racing each other. Apparently Anna was better at steering then Tenley...how cute. On Saturday morning, all our kids were up, so we headed out for a canoe ride and crossed the reservoir and got out and went on a little hike. We look like some serious hikers with our PJ's on, life jackets, crazy hats, and sandals on. We hiked up quite a bit and followed the little waterfalls. It was lots of fun and the boys loved it and wanted to keep going. Josh was even a good sport about it and unless he is hunting, he usually does not go hiking. It was the perfect way to start the day. We didn't want to leave, but I had to speak in church the next day, so we headed back home on Saturday. Tag wanted to stay at the mountain forever, but Ty was excited to be able to play the Wii and computer games. Josh and I agreed with Tag...we could stay forever. With that being said, I was really excited about a shower!! My feet and nails were so disgusting that I heated up some water and gave them a good scubbin' before we headed home...what a difference that makes. It really was a great weekend and I loved spending time with my family. I have such great friends and I am so glad that are kids are good friends...it made for such a terrific weekend.
