Family Fun/Pregnancy Update!

I am 16 weeks 2 days. I had my doctor appointment today and was hoping to find out the sex of the baby. Well, this little one is shy compared to his older brother. My doctor told me that the baby had his hand covering its bottom. I was so bummed...I can't wait another 4 weeks to find out what I am having, but I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and wait a little longer. Ty was never shy about showing his manhood, so I thought for sure it would be the same with this baby...I guess I was wrong.

I am part of the Zephyr Singers here in our valley and this was at our Christmas performance for Festival of the Trees. I had to pry Daddy and Ty away from their outdoor fun to come hear me sing...hence their choice of clothing. I love Christmas time! When I am pregnant, I like to take headshots to see how puffy my face gets throughout the process. This is me at 14 weeks 5 days! This is also to show my sisters my shorter hair...I miss having it long!


We went to St. George to Fiesta Fun for a family playday. We all had a great time and Ty loved the padded 2 story playhouse. He got really good at climbing to the top and loved it when mommy and daddy would chase him up. He didn't really care to go down the slide by himself, but liked it if he was with me or Josh. It was just fun to leave and go have some good old fun!

I was trying to get a picture of Ty's first fat lip and bloody mouth, but it didn't turn out too good. He was walking on the kitchen floor and tripped and his face hit before his hands. I was freaking out because all I could see was a mouth full of blood. I was so happy that there was no teeth missing or big gashes to worry about...just a fat lip. That was my first real scare with Ty...glad we got through it with no ER visit!

Ty's visit with Santa

We went up to St. George to do some shopping and decided to visit Santa while we were there! Ty loved Santa. He would just stare at him as Santa talked to him. I was so happy because it only took one try to get the cutest picture ever (no I am not a bias mom)! My only worry the entire time was that Ty would pull on Santa's beard and it would come off. Once I got close enough to Santa I realized his beard was real and all worries were gone! I just love being a mom and making all these fun memories!

I love our Christmas Tree this year. Josh and Ty went to Utah Mountain and chopped it down and I think it is great! Last year we had a very little and sad looking tree! Growing up we didn't have real tree's, so it has been something new for me. However, they do make your house smell so good!
I finally had to tell people that I was pregnant today. When I walked by my young women one of them said, "Just ask her" I turned around and said, "Ask me what?" They said they would ask me later. I knew exactly what they were thinking because I had a lot of people looking at my belly today! I am happy that the secret is finally out and people know I am just not packing on the Holiday pounds! These pictures are especially for my sister Carrie...she requested them.

This was a very funny moment. We were trying these boots on Ty to see if they fit him. Once they were on, he took off and wouldn't let us take them off. I just love the onsie and boot look!

1. When I was a little girl I loved to sit in front of the T.V. and suck my thumb and smell my hair. To this day I love to smell my hair when I am sitting in the car, in front of the T.V. , etc.

2. I love to sing and as a child I sang the song, "Dumb Dog" from Annie with our golden retriever for a ward talent show. I remember being so nervous that he was going to get up and walk away. I was also in honor choir and show choir until my sophmore year of High School. I still love to sing and sing with our community group, called the Zephyr Singers.

3. This is a really embarrassing(sp) one, but my entire family knows about it so what the heck! When I was in high school I was writing a missionary that I had a huge crush on. Actually I met his little brother first and we talked a few times, but then I developed this crush on his older brother through writing him on his mission. Well as all teenage girls do, I wrote my first name with his last name and so on and so forth. Well, somehow this piece of paper got stuck in with one of the letters I sent to him. I only found out because he copied the paper and sent it back to me and asked me what it was. I thought for sure that my older sister, Carrie, had played an evil joke on me and asked her about it. That was a bad mistake because she told all of my family about while we had company over. I was so horrified! My dad called me "Nowski" for the longest time.

4. I loved gymnastics growing up and went to lots of meets until I was in 8th grade. It was so much fun, but I felt it was taking up my whole life and not as fun anymore because it was all about competition and being the best. I also kept getting injured so I decided it was time to stop. I still love watching gymnastics and wish I could still do all the fun tricks.

5. After gymnastics I started diving and that was a blast. My junior year of high school I was at State and was in second place, but then I hit my hands all the way to my forearms on the board and ended up finishing in 7th place. I competed the second day with my hands wrapped and bandage. We weren't sure if they were broke at first because they were so swollen...thank goodness they weren't! After that day I never would do a reverse one and one half because I was terrified of hitting the board. We have the whole thing on tape and I came so close to hitting my head! I still love to dive, but I don't get too crazy anymore.

6. I met my husband while I was living with my sister in Mesquite, Nevada. My sister actually moved back to Missouri three months after I moved in with her. I really had a bad feeling about going back to Oklahoma, so I stayed and lived with a couple in my ward. I ended up going to a young singles campout and I can remember it like yesterday. I was talking to my sister, Lauri, on the phone and she asked me if there were any guys of interest there. I said, " Actually, one just pulled up and I think he's pretty cute." Later that night we were around the campfire and this guy (now my husband) started talking to me. I just remember the conversation flowing and it being so easy to talk to him. I was really interested in him after we talked and wanted to ride by him on the 4 wheeler ride the next day. The rodeo was in town and I tried my hardest to hint to him that I really wanted to go and even asked where and what time it started. That afternoon I waited all day for him to call me, but then another called and asked me to the rodeo. I really didn't want to go, but hated to be rude. Right after that, Josh called and asked me and I had to tell him I really wanted to go with him, but that another guy had just called. At the rodeo I looked all over for him. So funny...he was sitting right in front of me. I had to get up because my bum was killing me, so I was at the top of the bleachers standing. Josh got up and joined me and we talked for the rest of the rodeo. I don't think my date was too thrilled. After that, we were together all the time and eventually married.

We are PREGNANT!!

6 weeks 6 days

12 weeks 2 days!

Yes, we are expecting baby#2 and are so excited! I have been waiting patiently for the first trimester to be over so the good news could be passed along. I am due June 6th, but since I delivered early with Ty, they think I will probably go early with this one too. I guess we shall see! I am just hoping for a smooth pregnancy this time around...no bed rest...PLEASE! I went to my last appointment on Monday, Nov. 19th and it was so much fun to see the baby and hear the heart beat! The baby was bouncing all around and looked like he/she was having a ball in my tummy! I am finally feeling back to my old self. I wasn't nauseated(sp) with Ty, but felt it all day long with this pregnancy! Not fun...I can now sympathize with those that experience morning sickness...forget that...all day sickness! My doctor asked me if I was ready for this and I smiled and said, " I keep telling myself that my little boy will be older when the baby comes!" No, I am really excited and anxious to get the other bedroom ready! Josh isn't so thrilled because all of his stuff is being moved to the shed, he's losing his room so the baby can have it's own room. I am sure he will get over it once the baby comes and he see's how adoreable he/she is! Josh is excited, just not about losing his room! Poor poor baby! Anyhow all is well and I look forward to updating all of you with the fun ultrasonds and pregnancy pictures! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Poppy Scott's Buck

Poppy shot this nice buck today on his land! He was so excited when he got home and wanted his grandson in the picture! We are having a great time here in Oklahoma and Josh is loving all the hunting he is doing! I guess he saw a really nice buck this morning, but it only stuck his head out and then turned around and ran off! So much fun! I am sure there will be more pictures to come!

Ty and Daddy

We are currently in Oklahoma at my parents house. Josh came to go hunting for the week and i came to see my parents, get away, and have fun. Josh shot this 8 point buck yesterday out at dad's land with his bow! He loves to come to Oklahoma to hunt...he literally hunts from sun up until sun down. We don't see him much, but I have learned to accept it. Poppy really wanted Ty to take a picture with daddy's deer.

Ty and Daddy's Trick!

This is one of Ty and Daddy's favorite tricks. Ty loves to do it, but it scares mommy to death everytime he does it! I know his Aunt Carrie will freak out too! Sorry that it is turned funny, I tried to rotate it, but didn't see any way to do it. hope you enjoy!

Ty Walking around the House

This is especially for my sister, Carrie. I was laughing at Ty today as he was walking around the house. He was a little tired, so he was very unstable and kept falling over. I happened to be on the phone with my sister as he was doing this and she said, "I can't picture Ty walking." She wanted me to take a video and post it on my blog. I figured out that my digital camera would take movies, so I gave it a whirl and apparently it worked. This one's for you Carrie! Sorry, it's a little dark!

Branding Cows and Halloween!

Last weekend we headed to Alamo to help Josh's dad brand the church's cattle! This seems to be a yearly thing and Josh really loves doing it. When he was Ty's age, his dad would take him and his twin brother and they would help brand their grandpa's cattle. It is a fond memory of his and I think that is why he enjoys it so much. This year it was especially fun because we had Ty with us. It is fun to go watch, but you definitely don't get use to the smell of burnt hair or the sound of the cattle moaning. Needless to say, the guys come home very smelly...like immediate shower! Ty got inside the pen and rode a little calf and loved it. I thought for sure he would be in tears, but he was all smiles! He also loved riding the horse with his dad. They trotted for awhile and I thought he might get scared, but I was wrong once again. As I was looking at these pictures I thought to myself...I really do live in a pretty place and felt so grateful for the beautiful creations our Heavenly Father has given us to enjoy!





Halloween was fun this year, but I think it will be even better next year when Ty is a little older and really understands what's going on. He was a sheriff this year and he looked so cute! I loved his cowboy hat, but he didn't like it at all, so we tried to snap some pictures before he tore it off...that was a little hard. We went to our wards trunk or treat and had hot dogs and chili. It was fun, but didn't last long as Ty was tired and ready for bed! Josh went as a tired working dad...hence the pajama bottoms.

Trimming the Palm Trees

These top pictures are the finished product of a long day of hard work. We still need to shave them, but it's very time consuming and will take us some time to do. Pictures really don't do it justice because they look so much better than they did before.

We started out with a ladder and a saw...we finished with a fork lift and a chainsaw/cutter. We never would have finished without this nice piece of machinery!

Here you can see all the dead palm leaves...then you can see the neighbors trees...I am sure all sorts of creatures are living in their very overgrown palm trees. I am just glad that ours were not that bad!

Josh kept finding wasp nests, so he had a can of spray with him at all times! There was no way for him to run away...the spray worked wonders!

Yesterday we had a family work day and it literally took us all day long to finish it. I had been wanting to trim our palm trees since the day we moved in. Being from Oklahoma, I had no idea how to even start the process. We had a guy come and do 2 of our smallest tree's and that cost us $150. We had 6 more trees left and they were the tallest ones. At $10 a foot, we were looking at spending a whopping $1,000. I just couldn't pay that amount of money for my trees to be trimmed. 2 years later, we finally got motivated to get the job done and do it ourselves. By the end of the day we had a great system in place and I could say we are great palm tree trimmers not. In fact, a lady drove by and asked if we trimmed palm trees. I simply said, " only our own, my husband never wants to trim another palm tree after today!" We still need to shave 4 of them, but like I said earlier, it takes a lot of time and is so messy! For now I am happy with what we accomplished! Our neighbors would all drive by on their 4 wheelers on their way to have fun on a beautiful Saturday and we kept working our little hearts out! Next Saturday we will definitely be having some fun!

Ty's 1st Birthday!

We had a really fun birthday party for Ty! All of his aunts, uncles, and cousins who live nearby came for the party. Ty didn't like the birthday hat, but loved the birthday cake, especially the frosting. By the time he was done, he had frosting everywhere. We thought he would be so sick after all the cake he ate, but he surprised and did fine. He loved all the presents he got and had a lot of fun playing with them afterwards. However, he had a hard time opening presents because he wanted to play with what he had just opened, so he had a hard time when we took the gift away so he could open the next one. He got lots of great bo0ks, which he loves. He also got a new Tonka Truck that makes lots of fun sounds...he likes to ram it into the door. He got this fun green ball and would laugh every time Josh would squish it up like in the picture above. He also got a fun pistol set that we will be using as part of his Halloween costume. I think all his cousins had a great time with all the new toys and helping him open them. It was a house full of wild and crazy kids, but we had a great time. We still can't believe that Ty is already a year old. It has gone by so fast, but we love the stage he is at right now...so much energy.
