This was Ty's first Jensen Reunion and he had a great time. He got to play in the dirt, stay up late, and spend time with all of his cousins. Each year on Labor Day weekend the whole Jensen Clan head up to Kolob Mountain in Utah and spend the weekend with each other. Our family hasn't been since Josh and I were dating...at leatst 2 years ago. This year I decided that we had better go or they may decide to banish us from the family. We were happy we went because we had a wonderful time and the weather was great. While we were there Ty had a great time driving daddy's truck. He loves to be in the driver's seat and gets really upset when we have to put him in the car seat...aren't we mean parents. I just love these pictures of him driving and wanted to share them with all of you. I have some other awesome pictures, but I downloaded them onto another computer and am still trying to figure out how to get them on my computer. The disc I copied them too doesn't seem to work, so hopefully in the future I will be able to share those photos as well. As for now...these will have to do. I just love these pictures of Ty. This was his first hunting trip with mom and dad and he had a blast. He loved playing in the dirt. Needless to say, we didn't see any deer that night and it was probably due to his high pitch squeal. We still had fun and got some great photos out of the trip. Ty is 11 months old in these pictures...I can't believe he'll be 1 yr. old soon. Time really does fly when you are having fun.
Yesterday, September 13, 2006, our son, Ty, took his first steps. It was so fun watching him. He looked so timid and scared, but he did it and momma cheered really loud for him. Unfortunately, Daddy was gone so he did not get to see this big moment in Ty's life, but we made sure to call him as soon as it happened and give him the good news. Ty took two steps from the kitchen chair to the cabinets. Hopefully he will keep getting better and better. He also managed to say "chicken, bock, bath, and all done" Of course they weren't pronounced perfectly, but I knew what he was saying and was so excited for him. So many new things...I will definitely share all the new things with you all.
I have decided that our family should start our own blog, so here goes. I love looking at my friends blogs, but just haven't taken the time to start our own. Our family is doing great and so very happy. Ty is 11 months old now and getting so big. I can't believe that he will be 1 yrs. old next month...where has the year gone? Ty has brought so much joy into our lives and has made each day so much fun for his mommy and daddy. We play and laugh a lot around the Jensen home. Ty is currently getting into anything and everything. He loves to play in the cupboards with all of the tupperware. Whenever mommy opens the dishwasher he is there in a split second...no joke! It is amazing to watch. Ty got his first tooth at 4 months old and I swear the boy hasn't stopped since that time. He is currently working on his "I" teeth and his left top and bottom molars. Life has been so joyous throughout these past three teeth! Ty is also really good at walking along the furniture and his toys. We are trying to teach him to walk, but he gets so excited that he just falls down. He is getting the hang of it and I am sure he will be walking in no time. As you can tell...we LOVE our Ty and think he's about the greatest little boy in the world.
Josh and I are still as boring as ever. Josh is busy with work and should start working in Las Vegas again in the next couple of weeks (or so we hope). He will be working on the job in Vegas for about 6 months and that will be nice. Right now he is working about 5 min. from our home and that has been great. I get to see him at lunch and we don't have to get up near as early in the mornings. As you all know my husband is an avid hunter. He was excited to get a deer the first day of the season and will leave today to try and go get an antelope. He always gets excited when hunting season rolls around. I just was happy that he didn't drag it out this year.
I also got a deer tag this year, but I was not successful. I only had about 5 days to try and get one and all I seemed to find were does...so I guess we will try again. I am not an avid hunter like my husband, so sitting in a bush or tree doesn't excite me, so I give up really fast. Plus I am terrified of snakes, so tromping around in the hot desert where we have rattlesnakes isn't something I enjoy doing. However, I do keep very busy with my church callings, trying to keep my house in order, and taking care of my son and husband. These past few months have been great as we have had a lot of fun. Ty and I stayed with my sister Carrie in California for a good 3 weeks and that was so fun. When I got home the grandparents watched Ty for 5 days while Josh and I got to go white water rafting in Oregon with his bosses. We had a great time, but we did miss Ty. We feel very blessed and have been able to do a lot of fun things. We hope that each of you will enjoy the pictures and updates on our family. I will try and keep the future ones a little shorter. Love you all
