Ty playing in the dirt

He ate some of the dirt and decided he didn't really like it.

Ty and his Daddy! I love this picture!

Ty loved pushing this dump truck around in the dirt

This is inside the cave...Ty and Becca giving each other "loves" it was too cute!

I am dirty and loving it!

I don't know if he ate more food or dirt!

Ty all ready to go to church! I love him in this cute outfit...thanks Aunt Carrie!

Our handsome little boy...he's looks all grown up now!

Here's 4 generations...Great Grandma Redd, Grandma Jensen, Josh, and Ty...pretty neat!

Mom and Ty on the rocks...sorry the sun was right in our eyes!
Every Easter Josh's family has a reunion in Monticello, Utah. Since we have been married, I have never been able to go...something else is always going on. Now that we have Ty, I really wanted to make an effort to go. We finally did it this year and we had a GREAT time! Josh's Grandma Redd (his mom's mom) lives in Monticello and that is where his mother was raised. I don't feel like we know this side of the family very well because they live so far away, so it was great to get to know them better and Ty finally got to meet his Great-Grandma Redd.
We left on Friday morning at 4:20am and I think we got to Monticello around 2:00pm. We stopped along the way so the kids and adults could get out of the car and stretch their legs. We borrowed Josh's sister suburban and shared the gas with Jacob and Karen. On Friday we visited at Grandma Redd's house and let her get to know Ty and Becca (her great grandkids). She seemed to really enjoy watching them play and was always so worried about them. Aunt Cindy and Uncle Rick were already there when we got there and it was fun to see them again. Cindy is Josh's mom's sister (they live in Sandy, Utah). Then the kids started to get fussy, so we checked into the hotel and took them swimming before they went to bed. I wish we would have had our camera because Ty really loved the pool. He was splashing and laughing and having a ball. We swam for awhile because he liked it so much, but had to get out and go back over to Grandma's house for dinner. We didn't stay long this time...we were all worn out and wanted to sleep.
On Saturday, we headed to Grandma's house to meet everyone and then headed out to where the reunion is held every year. It was really neat! Josh's Grandpa Redd made the cave we are sitting in. He blasted it with dynamite and then put doors on both ends of the cave. Then they made the fireplace and it's so cool because there is a chimney too, so it smells so good outside when the fire is going. We played basketball in there, Ty loved to drive his truck inside and outside of the cave. It was a chilly and windy day, so I was happy that we had a place to go to get warm and away from all the sand that would blow in our eyes. Ty had a blast with all the big tires that were out there and he even enjoyed climbing on the rocks. The guys shot big booming guns and had a great time. We ate a big lunch and then they had an Easter Egg Hunt. We hid Ty's eggs in the tires and I think he had fun finding them, but I still don't think he quite understood what was going on. I got it on video, but didn't take any pictures...sorry! Then on our way out we stopped at "Jail House Rock" and hiked to the top of it...I even hiked! The story is that the Indians would put their wives down in this rock when they would leave on Saturday nights to go to town, so that their wives wouldn't leave them. I hope I told it right! I don't have a picture, but it's this huge rock with a hole in the middle of it. I guess at the reunion they normally bring a rope and lower everyone down into the rock and then there is this ledge and they run around it in circles and make fun of those who fall off the ledge. I think I am glad that they didn't have a rope this year...can you imagine a pregnant lady doing this? After this, we headed back to Grandma's house and once we sat down we realized how exhausted we all were. We stayed there for a little bit and then headed back to the hotel. Ty only took about an hour nap all day, so he was crank, but I decided to take him swimming one last time. He had a great time, but he lounged a little more in his floaty this time. He loved to sit on the hot tub stair and splash himself...it was fun to watch.
On Sunday we woke up at 6:30am and were at Grandma's by 7:00 to say goodbye to everyone. It was a short trip, but we really had a great time and look forward to going again next year. I know Ty had a blast and I know he will have even more fun the older he gets. The drive home didn't seem as bad to me and that was good! We had a great Easter and I really enjoyed getting to know this side of the family!
