First Day of School and Daddy's Birthday

The school year has begun and we have 3 little ones who were so excited for school to start! Ty is in 2nd grade, Tag is in 1st grade, and Tenley goes to pre-school. So far the school year has been pretty busy and full of lots of homework! The kids begged to ride the bus this year, so I gave in and now they ride the bus! It has actually been really nice because I do not have to wake up Tucker to go pick them up from school! We experienced a flood and missed a couple days of school for that. We have been very busy with soccer this year and Ty has started playing the piano too!

Daddy had his 35th birthday and I am second guessing myself as I type that! It seems just too crazy that he is already 35! He was up in Utah hunting for his birthday, so I will say it was the best birthday ever! He and my brother Mike were elk hunting for a bull and Mike shot a really nice one! Those of you who know my husband, know that is the best birthday present ever! When he got back from his hunt, we celebrated his birthday with his favorite: homemade brownies! Tenley was so excited because daddy let her blow out his candles! We love you daddy!!

Las Vegas with the Faudin's

Saying goodbye

Our last hooray before the end of summer! Thanks to mom and dad, Rikki and I had a very nice place to stay in Las Vegas! We spent 4 days in Vegas with Rikki and her family! We had LOTS of fun and many late nights! The kids loved to play in the pool in the morning and evening if we got home before it closed! For Las Vegas, we had crazy weather for August! It was actually really nice because it wasn't so hot, so we could do things during the day without dying of heat! We took the kids to the Adventuredome and spent 11 hours there! We were all so tired by the time we left, but there wasn't one person who didn't have a great time!  We rode super fun and fast roller coasters and rides that took your stomach away! Uncle Seb was lucky enough to take the boys on the big rides and Rikki and I took the girls on the little kid rides! It was so fun to watch Tenley and Lucie just giggle and smile as they rode these rides! Tucker was such a good little baby and endured the 11 hours like a pro! The other thing we did while we were in Vegas, was take the kids to see the water fountain at the Bellagio and the Volcano and the Mirage! They loved it, but did not like all the walking they had to do! By the end, we had lots of tired and whining kids! We had a great time in Las Vegas and were really sad when we had to say our final goodbye to the Faudin Family! It was hard to say goodbye to my sister and I know the kids had a hard time saying goodbye to their cousins! We had a great summer and now it was time to get back to reality and get ready for school!

Leonardo's and Shooting at the Land

Ty was in heaven with all the dinosaurs and other animals at Leonardo's

The little builders were hard at work

Uncle Sebastien was the instigator of the boys getting all wet! They had so much fun that us moms really didn't care!

Enjoying Poppy and Grammy's little piece of heaven!

It was fun to watch the boys learn and try to throw clay pigeons...they had down by the time we left

Everyone wanted a ride with Uncle Sebastien on the 4-wheeler
These 3 little girls were our little entertainers
There are never enough water balloons, but they did have a blast getting each other wet

my cousin, Eden's children

While we were in Oklahoma, we took the kids to Leonardo's on a cooler day! The kids loved building, exploring, and getting wet while they were there! They have a really fun castle outside and the kids spent the most time out there! It was a cooler day, so it was nice to be outside and watch the kids play with their cousins. Aunt Debbie and Uncle Fred and 2 of their children came to visit while we were in Oklahoma! It was so good to see them again...I hadn't seen them for many years and my kids had never met them before! While they were there, we took a trip to the land! We roasted hot dogs, marshmallows, shot clay pigeons, rode the 4-wheeler and picked lots of stickers off our pants and shoes! The kids had a great time and the boys even learned how to throw clay pigeons! One of the greatest joys for me as a mother is to watch my children grow and learn and have fun! I was one happy mother while I was in Oklahoma! Sadly, our month long trip had to end and we started our long journey back to Nevada! We caravan with Rikki's family! Rikki and I had the girls in my car and the boys all rode with Sebastien. We traveled to Cheyenne, Wyoming and stayed the night there. We stayed in a nice hotel with a swimming pool, so of course we had to go swimming! We ate really yummy pizza and then said our goodbyes and they headed to Canada and we headed to Utah! That leg of the drive it rained the entire time! There was a long stretch of really heavy rain and if had gotten much harder, we would have had to stop until it slowed down! Thank goodness it didn't harder and we were able to make it to Grandma Scott's house in North Ogden. Uncle Emory and Aunt Judy were now living there, so it was fun to get to visit with them and see family I hadn't seen for many years! My children had never met them, so they had fun meeting even more of their cousins! Eden and her family were also staying there, while they were getting their new house ready to move into! We visited and the kids played! We even took the kids swimming at Aunt Crystals condo and had a little get together with everyone! Winfield and his family, Crystal and her boyfriend, Emory and Judy and even Lauri and her girls came up!  It was fun to see everyone, but I was ready to get back home to see Josh...we all were missing him! Ironically enough, Josh was still not back from his work trip when we arrived home! He had gone back east for work to find heavy equipment. When it was time to finally come home, they went through 4 different planes before they got one that worked! We got home on Saturday and daddy finally made it home on Monday! It was a happy reunion! I know this summer will be a summer the kids will never forget!
