Tenley Leah Jensen was born on Monday July 5, 2010 at 9:42am at Summerlin Hospital. She weighed 5 lbs 11 oz and was 18" long. She is the sweetest little girl and LOVES to sleep. In fact, she has consistently done 4 to 5 hour stretches at night!!! She has everyone in the family all excited, especially on the Jensen side because she is the 2nd grandaughter out of 13 grandchildren.
Mom went to the hospital on Sunday July 4th to have a balloon placed in her cervix! I was attempting to have a vaginal birth after a ceaseran, so they put the balloon in you to dilate you. We were suppose to be at the hospital at 12:00pm. We drove to Las Vegas and got the hospital and got all set up. Since my doctor was on call at 4 different hospitals for the weekend, we didn't actually have the procedure done until 8:30pm! We left the hospital and hung out in Vegas all day...exactly what we didn't want to do. We were hoping to go home that night and spend some time with the boys before Tenley was born, but that didn't happen! I was just so happy that we brought everything with us. The procedure didn't hurt, but it was one long and miserable night. I didn't sleep at all because I had really bad cramps...almost like labor pains, but not as intense. I spent the night doing deep breathing and Josh snored away. We ended up staying with his brother, Seth, because we had to be back at the hospital at 4:00am the next day.
We got to the hospital on the 5th and they got me all set up. I was still in a lot of pain, so I asked if I could have anything. I don't know what they gave me, but it was AWESOME!!! Not only was I in pain, but I was so tired because I didn't sleep the night before. I was out like a light in 2 seconds!!! Eventually the medicine wore off, but I was to a 4 by that time, so I was able to have an epidural. I did have to wait for a little bit, but not too bad. Then they started me on the potocin and broke my water. From that point on, it went by really fast! I was in labor for a total of 3 1/2 hours! When it was time to push, I was so ready to have her out. I really wanted to push, but the nurses kept telling me to wait for the doctor to get in! I wasn't in pain, but the pressure was insane. The doctor got their and we waited until I had a contraction and would push throughout the entire contraction. I pushed 7 times and she was out! I was tired at that point and was so relieved when she was out! If you've ever had a baby, it is instant relief to have them out of you. They laid her on my stomach and emotions took over. She was perfect and already a blessing to my life and our family! It is a true miracle and I cannot explain it any other way, but pure joy!
Tenley stayed in my tummy for 2 weeks longer than the boys, so we were sure that she was going to be our biggest child! Not the case...she was our smallest. She is very dainty and has dark hair??? I am guessing that it will turn blonde...time will tell!
She is already the apple of her daddy's eye and her brothers just love her. Ty wants to hold her all the time and Tag always says, "can I pet her?" He also loves to hold her, but I think he had to warm up to the idea! In the hospital he had more fun sliding on the floor and playing with my bed! She has been visited by her Great Grandma Redd several times, who just can't get enough of her. She loves little Tenley and loves to hold her. Grandma and Grandpa Jensen came with the boys to visit us in the hospital and her Grammy and Poppy from Oklahoma arrived here on Tuesday evening. Tenley has a lot of people who already love and adore her...what a lucky girl she is to belong to such a great family! We love you Tenley and are excited to have you as our daughter!

Yeahh! Congrats! And what? She already sleeps that long at night? So not fair. And I love that name. There is a girl in our ward that name, I think it's totally unusual and unique, but still can be pronounced and is just darling. Congrats you guys - how exciting!!

Oh!! YAY! I was wondering if you were able to have the VBAC. Congrats!!! We need to come visit! Kisses and hugs to Tenley!
SO thanks for sending me pictures! She's a cutie and can't wait to meet her! Hope things went well with mom and dad at the house. How are you adjusting with the 3 kids now that mom is gone? Love ya
Congratulations! Man, she sounds like a great sleeper. Are you holding up okay? A few weeks makes a big difference, huh? She's so tiny, but long. I'm surprised they let you do a VBAC. They're against the law in Oklahoma. But it sounds like it went okay. Hope you are doing well! She's precious.
