Girls Weekend

 Lauri wanted us to act like models...hence all the poses!

On May 3rd, my sister, my aunt, and I headed to Vegas for a girls weekend! We usually do a week long girls trip with my mom, sisters, and sister-in-laws, but since mom is on her mission, we haven't gone the past 2 years! My sister, Lauri, has been divorced for some time now and my Aunt Crystal is going through a divorce right now, so we thought it would be good to get away and relax and have some fun. Growing up, my Aunt Crystal was so fun and I remember always having so much fun with her! Now I am all grown up and it was even more fun than when I was little! She is my dad's baby sister...they are almost 20 years apart and he was so happy we were going on this mini vacation!  They drove down from Ogden and got to my house around 1:00 am on Friday morning! We had breakfast and Josh borrowed the razor from his boss and took them on a really crazy ride...he loves to give people a little thrill ride when they come to visit.  We talked to mom and dad on skype and that was fun because Crystal hadn't seen them since they left for their mission.  We headed to Vegas and decided to go hiking at Red Rock that day because we couldn't check into our room until 4:00pm.  It was a lot of fun and of course, Lauri had to do all her crazy poses for pictures...never a dull picture when she is there! We had a great time hiking and even found a really cool dead tree that Crystal loved. She loves to take pictures of dead trees!  When we got to the room, we were all hungry, so we decided to eat at the MGM because it was right across the street from us! Everything was so expensive that we ended up eating at the cafeteria...it was yummy! Lauri wanted to find something for her girls and Crystal knew of this little shop close by, so we walked down the strip and found the store.  Needless to say, everything had Las Vegas on it, so we ended up going to Ross just a few stores down! We started shopping at 8:30pm and checked out at 11:30! We were so tired and who knows what we were thinking! I did not want to be out on the strip that late at night, so I wanted to hurry home! It just feels so evil and gross on the strip.  There were two guys that were getting ready to fight and that is when I told the girls we need to get out of here NOW!!! We made it home safe and ended up staying up and talking until 2:00am! Lauri was showing Crystal her dating website and that is when I decided to read my scriptures and head to bed! On Saturday we had such a great day! We slept in, ate breakfast, and lounged by the pool until about 2:00pm.  It was a nice hot day and we all wanted to get some much needed sun! It was fun to relax and just catch up and visit! After the pool we headed to eat at the Cheesecake Factory!  Can I just say so yummy! Of course, on the way home we saw another Ross and had to stop by! Once again we shopped way to long, but found some great buys! We were going to do a movie night, but they had no DVD player and you couldn't rent movies off the TV, so we ended up watching house hunters! We were all so tired from staying up two nights in a row that we headed to bed at a decent hour! Crystal and I shared a room, so we talked for quite awhile before we fell asleep! Sunday morning we lounged at the pool again for a few hours and then came back and got ready to check out! None of us were ready to leave, but we sure had a great weekend! I am so lucky to have such a great husband that allows me to do all these fun getaways! We decided that we needed to do another one in 6 months!
