Tag Michael Jensen

Grandpa and Grandma Jensen with their 2 grandsons.
One big happy family!
Ty with his new baby brother...I don't think he quite understood what was going on.
Daddy giving precious kisses to his little boy! He is already so protective of his little boy.

Life really throws you some good surprises! I went to my doctor appointment on Thursday May 15th and the doctor checked to see if I was dilating more. He kept saying, "What the heck am I feeling? What the heck is that? Is it his nose or his toes?" I then let him know that it was probably his toes because his head was still in my ribs. He then did an ultrasound and was not happy with what he found. It was definitely his toes and he was still breach. I was 37 weeks and 1 day and the baby really needed to turn around. My doctor grew even more unhappy when he realized the chord was between his legs. Since I had already started to dilate, if my water were to break the chord would most likely prolapse and the baby could end up dying. Of course, this really freaked me out. He told me I had two options: he could try and turn the baby or he could do a c-section. I told him I didn't want a c-section and to try and turn the baby. They sent me straight to the hospital to do what they call a "version." I called Josh on my way there and told him everything...thank goodness he was working in Vegas already. The doctore lathered my belly with jelly and tried to turn the baby , but he was not successful. He told me he would do an amnio to test the babies lungs and if they were mature he would do a c-section that night. Everything was happening so fast and I really did not want a c-section, but I also didn't want to risk my baby. If we didn't live so far away from a hospital it wouldn't have been as risky, but with an hour and half drive, it was just to scary for Josh and me. I was really nervous about the amnio, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. The test came back and his lungs were mature, so we were having a baby that night. I was set to have a c-section at 5:30pm.

We didn't have anything with us since we weren't planning on having a baby, so while we waited Josh went to Target to get a few items. I was really anxious as I layed there waiting. I kept asking the nurse all these questions because I had no idea what to expect. I was happy to know what would happen the second time around, but now I had no clue what it would be like. Finally, the time came to go to the operating room. Operating rooms are not that inviting...it's cold, bright lights, and machines everywhere. I sit on the table and I couldn't stop shaking. The anthesiologist started doing his thing and started the spinal block. Compared to an epideral, the spinal block wasn't too fun. I was knumb up to my chest, had a hard time breathing and got very naseau and threw up. It was not a fun experience and I know I kept worrying Josh by my facial expressions. I felt bad, but it was so hard for me to talk and breathe because of the spinal block. I couldn't feel anything, but I could feel the pressure of them tugging and pulling. Once they got in there my doctor said he was very happy that we did the c-section because all the chord was at his feet. It went by very quickly and they held Tag up over the curtain and I thought he looked just like Ty. That was all I saw of him until we were on our way out of the operating room.

When I first saw Tag and heard his little cry, tears came to my eyes and I felt so blessed and grateful to have a healthy little boy. We truly are blessed by these little angels that come into our lives straight from Heavenly Father. During the c-section they said I lost a lot of blood, but that I should be fine. My doctor said my veins were like "fire hoses." I was happy to get out of the operating room and to be able to finally hold my little boy.

Once I saw him all cleaned up, I realized he really didn't look like Ty, but looked a lot like his daddy. He was born at 5:50pm at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has lots of golden brown hair and a perfect little round head. He was so tiny, but still a little bigger than Ty.

Tag weighed 6lbs 4 oz. and was 17 inches long. He and Ty were the same in length, but Ty only weighed 5lbs 13 oz. Tag, we are so happy to have you in our home and love you so much.

Mom and baby are healthy and doing pretty good. Mom still is pretty sore, but the medication is definitely a blessing for her. We are so grateful for Grandma and Grandpa Jensen taking such good care of us while we recover. Ty is doing great and having such a great time at grandma and grandpa's house. Mom still tries to spend as much time with him as I can and hopes he knows how much she loves him. We felt so bad for having to leave him for a couple of days while mom had the baby and hope he knows how much we missed our little boy.

Sorry it took some time to get these pictures up and I promise to post some more!

Wow, what a day that was for you. I'm sorry you had to do the c-section, but happy everything went okay. He is too cute! I'm glad to hear your baby was fully developed at 37 weeks. I have worried about that a little since I am delivering at 38 weeks. Well, these babies will be closer than we thought (1 week). We'll have to get them together to play sometime! :)
